Realtors Educate New Landowners
About Water Resources
The Mille Lacs Lake Watershed Management Group recently partnered with realtors around the area to provide packets of information to new property owners in the Mille Lacs Lake Watershed. The information packets were designed to provide landowners with the information that they need to make wise land and water stewardship decisions, and protect sensitive water resources. Information included related to septic system management, exotic aquatic species, shoreland buffers, basic lake characteristics and management, and more.

Funding for the information packets was provided by a grant from the Mille Lacs Electric Community Trust. Additional donations were received from the Water Planning Task Forces in Aitkin, Mille Lacs, and Crow Wing Counties, as well as the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe.
